Hailun Ying
Director, Privacy & Security Counsel
Hailun Ying is the Director, Head of Privacy and Security Legal at Roblox, an online gaming platform, where she leads the team handling privacy and cybersecurity legal matters. Her expertise includes both domestic and international privacy regulations such as GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, UK AADC, and COPPA. She advises on privacy and data protection requirements for product launches, data incidents, and policy. Before Roblox, Ms. Ying specialized in M&A, product, and incident response privacy matters at PayPal. She is also the current Chair of the California Lawyers Association – Privacy Law Section, having been an Executive Committee member since its founding in 2020. Ms. Ying holds a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law and a BA in Economics, Political Science, and Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley.
