Daniel P. Barer, a partner in the law firm of Pollak, Vida & Barer, is certified as an appellate specialist by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Certification. He represents public entities and individual defendants on appeal, and works with trial counsel to represent these parties in the trial courts. Mr. Barer graduated from UCLA in 1987 with an undergraduate degree in political science. He graduated from University of California, Hastings College of the Law (now UC Law San Francisco), cum laude, in 1990. Mr. Barer has been practicing with Pollak, Vida & Barer and its predecessor firms, Pollak, Vida & Fisher, and Fisher & Prager, since 1990. Mr. Barer frequently speaks and writes about governmental entity liability and immunities.
