Keaton Parekh

Keaton Parekh is an accomplished intellectual property attorney, experienced business leader, and invaluable IP advisor. With over 25 years of experience in IP licensing and litigation; patent prosecution; buying and selling of IP assets; and building in-house IP departments, he brings a strategic focus to the development of patent portfolios, assertion of IP, and monetization of patents. Though he is knowledgeable in diverse areas of technology, Mr. Parekh’s particular areas of interest include semiconductors processing and packaging; computer hardware and software; artificial intelligence; wireless communications; LEDs, lasers, and lighting technology; interactive entertainment systems; and OTT TV. Mr. Parekh holds a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, as well as a BS in Engineering, and MS in Electrical Engineering, both from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Mr. Parekh was the CEO of WiLAN, where he ran its patent monetization business. Prior to WiLAN, he was the Chief Intellectual Property Officer of Lumileds, where he built a global IP team and infrastructure and led the successful separation of Lumileds IP functions and assets from its parent Royal Philips. Mr. Parekh also held various senior legal and business roles with SanDisk Corporation, Rovi Corporation, and Tessera Technologies. While in private practice, he was a partner at the international law firm of McDermott, Will & Emery where he focused his practice on litigation and client counseling. Mr. Parekh began his career as a patent attorney at the New York office of Stroock Stroock & Lavan and the Silicon Valley office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.
