They began their career being awarded the Pride Law Fund, Tom Steel Fellowship, during which they launched a permanent residency and case management program at Oasis Legal Services. Ari continues to work with Oasis as the Immigration Pathways Programs Director, directing Oasis's residency and naturalization work. They served on the East Bay Refugee and Immigrant Forum (EBRIF) Steering Committee for six years, and lead the group as Steering Committee Chair for two years. In 2023, Ari was named a Best LGBTQ+ Lawyer Under 40 by the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association and they received a Minority Bar Coalition (MBC) Unity Award for their dedication to diversity and inclusion within the legal profession. They previously volunteered on the board of the Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom (BALIF), and they currently serve as LGBTQI+ Co-Coordinator for the AILA Northern California Chapter. In 2023, amidst rising anti-trans sentiment, Ari co-founded the grass roots group Legalize Drag, a collective of drag artist legal professions organizing and fundraising to support LGBTQI+ liberation across the US.
