Nikku Khalifian is a business litigation and labor and employment associate with experience handling a variety of matters, from pre-litigation negotiations up to trial, in both state and federal court. She is a skilled communicator and critical thinker, allowing her to zealously advocate for her clients and formulate out-of-the-box solutions to address their needs. Ms. Khalifian’s expertise focuses on defending employers against labor and employment claims, including wage and hour, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation claims. Her practice extends to partnership disputes and real estate litigation, and she has prior experience in the field of intellectual property. Before joining Novian & Novian, Ms. Khalifian was a business litigation associate at Womble Bond Dickinson, where she represented small and large companies and individuals in employment, construction, and financial services matters. She graduated from California State University, Long Beach in 2016 (BS, Criminal Justice & Forensic Science) and received her law degree from Loyola Law School in 2019. During law school, Ms. Khalifian worked at the Loyola Law School Collateral Consequences of Conviction Justice Project, where she provided free legal representation to assist formerly incarcerated individuals with securing employment, and achieving self-sufficiency and stability. Prior to law school, she gained experience in the field of intellectual property law, helping creators and owners of utility patents, design patents, trademarks, and other works protect their rights. Ms. Khalifian drafted updates to Chapter 8 of CEB's Privacy Compliance and Litigation in California title in 2024 and 2025. While working at Womble Bond Dickinson, she was a founding contributor of the firm's TCPA Defense Force and FCRA Land blogs - drafting articles covering updates in the financial services industry - and was a key contributor to the firm's Covid Task Force - delivering timely internal and external updates on court closures across California’s state and federal systems. In 2024, Ms. Khalifian was the only associate in Womble's Irvine, California office recognized on the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America list.
