Mary Work’s practice focuses on providing representation to licensed professionals. This includes providing guidance on regulatory compliance, representing licensees under investigation by state regulators, and defending licensees in disciplinary proceedings. Ms. Work also assists clients who face hurdles in the license application process. She represents individuals and businesses licensed by the Department of Real Estate and other agencies, including the DFPI, BREA, DOI, CA Civil Rights Department, and the various boards that have jurisdiction over healthcare professionals. Ms. Work has practiced administrative law since 1998, first as a hearing officer for the DIR and later as real estate counsel with the DRE. In 2004, she opened her firm in Manhattan Beach offering services to individuals and businesses across the state. Ms. Work’s background and experiences have made her the go-to attorney for DRE matters. Ms. Work is a former Executive Committee member of the State Bar Real Property Section. In addition, she belongs to the California Association of Realtors Legal Affairs Forum. Ms. Work is a consultant, author, and editor for the CEB for publications that cover the regulation of brokers, broker discipline, professional licensing, and administrative practice.
