Owner

Louis Esbin has been practicing law for nearly 40 years and is one of a select few attorneys in California who is a Certified Specialist in Bankruptcy Law by the State Bar of California. His legal career includes having been the law clerk to Bankruptcy Judges in the Northern and Central Districts of California; followed by being an associate in law firms in Century City, San Francisco, and Los Angeles; and ultimately, to better serve his community, opening his own practice in Valencia, California. Throughout this time, using his undergraduate studies and degree in finance and accounting, combined with his experience with insolvency from the creditor and debtor perspective, Mr. Esbin honed his skills at representing small business and start up clients in "how not to fail!" As a contributing author to the CEB Treatise, Mortgages, Deeds of Trust and Foreclosure Litigation, he has a unique niche understanding of how bankruptcy impacts real property lending and foreclosures. Mr. Esbin graduated from the State University at Albany Business School with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in finance and accounting and second major in Sociology. He has a J.D. from Golden Gate University, where his studies focused on Tax, Business, Real Property and Bankruptcy Law. Mr. Esbin has a certificate in Dispute Resolution from the Pepperdine Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution. Since 2008, Mr. Esbin has been a contributing author to the CEB Treatise, Mortgages, Deeds of Trust and Foreclosure Litigation. Along with four other colleagues in 2006, he co-authored a treatise on "Practicing Under BAPCPA." Mr. Esbin served as a community court teen traffic judge from 2008 to 2022. He has been the president of the Rotary Club of Santa Clarita Valley and was chosen by Rotary District 5280 leadership as the Community and Vocational Grants Chair from 2020 to 2022. Mr. Esbin is a founding member of the Central District Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys Association and the Santa Clarita Valley Bar Association. From 2008 to 2022, he served on the Bankruptcy Law Advisory Commission of the State Bar Specialist Program, being chair in 2019, and serving on the California Board of Legal Specialization thereafter.
