Ron Brand is Co-Chair of Kahana Feld's Labor & Employment Counseling and Litigation practice group. He provides legal guidance and representation to employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including defense against Federal and State-based wrongful termination, retaliation, harassment, discrimination, wage and hour, whistleblower, defamation, breach of contract, fraudulent inducement, and other similar claims. Mr. Brand practices in Federal and State courts and before Federal and State administrative agencies. He provides preventive counseling and advice to employers on a wide variety of human resources and personnel issues. Mr. Brand also negotiates, drafts, and provides advice regarding employment-related agreements. Mr. Brand graduated with a J.D, with Honors, from DePaul University College of Law and is a member of the Order of the Coif. During his approximately 25 years of practice, he has worked at small to large national law firms, specializing in defending businesses and business owners in labor and employment matters. Mr. Brand is a regular contributor to the CEB's “Drafting Employment Documents for California Employers.” He provides pro bono legal advice to several non-profit organizations, including Habitat for Humanity of Orange County, and sits on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Community Foundation of Orange County and the Veterans Legal Institute. Mr. Brand conducts in-house management seminars and training sessions on all aspects of labor and employment law. He is a frequent lecturer before providers of continuing legal education, trade groups, associations, and private employers.
