Nathan Damian Pastor

Nathan Pastor is an elite litigator in the areas of trusts, estates, conservatorships, and probate. He is routinely appointed by the court as counsel for proposed conservatees. Mr. Pastor represents clients throughout the litigation process beginning with pre-litigation planning and discovery through trial, appeal, or settlement. He has experience in all areas of alternative dispute resolution and has successfully tried cases as well as prosecuted appeals.

Mr. Pastor has an LL.M. in Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law, and is certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization as a Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law. As a graduate of University of California, Berkeley, he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science with a minor in English. Mr. Pastor went on to earn his J.D. and LL.M. from Golden Gate University School of Law. During law school, he worked for the Contra Costa County Probate Court, developing an in-depth knowledge of the probate court system and Judges.

Mr. Pastor was selected by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in Trust and Estate litigation for the last six years. He recently argued and won an appeal stemming from a trust contest at the California Supreme Court (See Barefoot v. Jennings; California Supreme Court Case No. S251574). All seven California Supreme Court justices heard the appeal and Mr. Pastor won by unanimous decision. The appeal was of statewide concern and garnered many headlines.
