Michael G. Watters

Michael Watters is a highly experienced civil trial and appellate lawyer of almost 50 years of practice. His practice has included malpractice, personal injury, employment, family law, business, real estate litigation, and more. Mr. Watters has tried more than 40 jury trials to verdict, including a number of lengthy trials, several of which lasted 80 days. He shares a Top 40 jury verdict in 2014 (fraud in the sale of commercial property) and has handled over 75 appeals.

Mr. Watters started his career with the venerable firm of Spridgen, Barrett, Achor & Luckhardt, Anderson, James & Zeigler, one of the oldest firms in California. It boasted 4 Fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He then started his current firm, O'Brien Watters & Davis, LLP, in 1982. Five of Mr. Watters’ firm’s former partners or associates have become Superior Court Judges, one a State Senator, and two Deans of Law schools. All but one were hired and trained by Mr. Watters.

Mr. Watters has taught extensively on depositions and participated as a panelist in any number of MCLE programs. He has made numerous MCLE presentations to the Sonoma County Bar. Now, Mr. Watters also offers his service as an expert witness.
