Klaus Gottlieb

Wealth Care Lawyer is a boutique estate planning practice headquartered in San Luis Obispo, CA, with a satellite office in Cayucos, CA. Led by Klaus Gottlieb, the firm focuses on high-net-worth estate planning and charitable giving and advises individuals and charities on optimizing planned giving strategies.

After a distinguished career in medicine, academia, and industry, Mr. Gottlieb founded Wealth Care Lawyer in 2021. Among other advanced degrees, he holds an MBA from Indiana University and a J.D. from Northwestern California University of Law. Mr. Gottlieb is currently pursuing a dual LL.M. in Taxation and Estate Planning from Golden Gate University in San Francisco.

Mr. Gottlieb is a prolific writer with more than 150 blog posts about estate planning topics. He is a CEB contributor and frequently writes for the National Law Review. In 2024, Mr. Gottlieb was selected as a Rising Star for Super Lawyers. He is one of the founding members of the California Central Coast Estate Planning Council (CCCECP), a local affiliate of the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils (NAECP). Mr. Gottlieb teaches Business Law and Wills & Trusts at the Monterey College of Law.
