Karen P. Kimmey

Karen Kimmey is a trial lawyer and chair of Farella's Business Litigation practice group. She has nearly 30 years experience representing large and small businesses in commercial disputes, including class actions, employment disputes, fraud, breach of contract, and unfair business practices claims.

Ms. Kimmey is a 1994 graduate of the University of California, Hastings College of the Law (now UC Law, San Francisco), magna cum laude, Order of the Coif.

Ms. Kimmey was awarded the California Lawyer of the Year ("CLAY") award in 2022 for her work as trial counsel in a ground-breaking class action against Sutter Hospitals. She has repeatedly been recognized as a California Super Lawyer and is honored as a Best Lawyer in America for commercial litigation. Ms. Kimmey is a former board member of the Bar Association of San Francisco and the Justice and Diversity Center. She is a frequent author and speaker on matters involving trial practice and litigation strategy.
