Julianna Malis

Julianna Malis helps families stop worrying about the ‘what ifs’ in life, and instead prepare for life events through proper estate planning. She brings a family-centered approach to planning, with a focus on practical solutions for families and high net worth individuals. Ms. Malis formed Santa Barbara Estate Planning Law Group after becoming her mother’s caregiver. She decided she would use her personal experience to help other families navigating the elder care continuum. While her practice does involve traditional estate planning, her focus involves issues that affect people as they age and special needs planning.

Ms. Malis received her J.D. from University of the Pacific-McGeorge School of Law (1996) and LL.M in Estate Planning-Taxation (1999). She earned her BA in Philosophy from University of California, Santa Barbara (1993). Ms. Malis has been practicing law in California for over 25 years and has been a small firm founder/owner for over 20 years.

Ms. Malis is a certified Dementia Practitioner, as well as Trainer, and a frequent speaker to public and private groups on issues of estate planning, elder law, special needs and asset protection planning.
