Jennifer L. Barnette

Jen Barnette is a startup and venture capital lawyer with a deep grounding in impact and sustainability. She is a trusted advisor to high-growth emerging companies and VC funds across a wide range of industries, including climate tech, responsible AI, digital health, education technology, and consumer goods. Ms. Barnette is sought out for her expertise on Delaware public benefit corporations (PBCs) and frequently advises on corporate structures to scale impact and financial returns.
Ms. Barnette received her law degree from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law and has practiced for more than a decade at Cooley LLP, where she advises mission-driven private companies and venture capital firms. She taught Social Enterprise Law at UC Berkeley School of Law from 2019 to 2024.
