What We Do and Why

CEB provides practical legal resources to help lawyers achieve success. For us, "success" means we help attorneys lead productive lives, and we help to promote a more just society. Inspired by our mission and values, CEB is a self-supporting program of the University of California.

Why CEB?

There are a lot of great reasons to join the CEB team. Here are a few:

Interesting work, well-respected products

CEB is the go-to source for lawyers on information about the law, and the practice of law, in California. We take pride that our work is well-respected and used widely among the state's attorneys. As the industry changes, we face interesting new challenges every day.

Company Culture

We're a diverse crew with an informal, collegiate culture. People who join CEB tend to stay long-term because the company offers rewarding, intellectual work; interaction with talented colleagues; opportunities for innovation; and respect for employees' work-life balance.

CEB employees are University of California employees. With this, comes a great set of benefits.

CEB, the leading source for legal education and legal research solutions for California lawyers, is a self-supporting non-profit program of the University of California. Founded in 1947 with the mandate to cultivate the professional development of California lawyers, CEB was the first organisation to offer formal continuing legal education in the state.

Great Location

Our headquarters are in trendy Uptown Oakland, with convenient access to public transportation, shopping, and great food and coffee. We're located at 2100 Franklin Blvd, in a LEED-certified, green building.

The surrounding Bay Area – including Berkeley, San Francisco, and Napa – is famous for its incredible sights and attractions.

… and we like to have fun!
