Digital Marketing Manager

Under the general direction of the CEB Director of Go-to-Market, the Digital Marketing Manager will lead the development and build out of its digital marketing capability as it transitions from a print business model to a digital first organization. The Digital Marketing Manager operates on both a strategic and tactical level to develop and implement a holistic digital marketing strategy to achieve our overall revenue and customer experience goals. The Digital Marketing Manager is a data-driven, natural-born problem solver who can do market research, gather customer insights, and drive go-to-market strategy, while still rolling up their sleeves to get things done.


  • Drive strategy and execution for digital marketing, lead generation and engagement, including content marketing, digital advertising, SEO, mobile, and social media.
  • Be responsible for the implementation and day-to-day operation of marketing automation processes and tools.
  • Stay up-to-date with competitors and understand the latest trends in the industry.
  • Ensure brand consistency across media and platforms in marketing messaging and product copy.
  • Manage daily execution of campaigns across marketing channels.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify problems and pain points in the customer journey, as well as opportunities for growth.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to create programs that increase revenue and generate customer acquisition, conversion and lead generation.
  • Digital Marketing Strategy experience.

Attorney Editor  - Trusts and Estates

Under general direction, this position is responsible for the full range of project management skills, new content development, original writing, legal editing, and legal research and analysis of both primary and secondary law. Incumbent must ensure accuracy, currency, practice orientation, and balance in CEB content. Incumbent is responsible for developing new products and repurposing existing content; for contributor recruitment, development, and good contributor relations; for providing Marketing with product benefits; and for regular participation in social networking and state bar activities.



  • Responsible for project management of new titles, new editions and updates including meeting deadlines, creating and maintaining schedules, and overall responsibility for adhering to budgets.
  • Identify problems early and propose solutions and improvements that increase the efficiency of planning, creating, updating, maintaining, and curating content.
  • Ensure quality of assigned publications meets or exceeds CEB standards by reviewing content, assessing quality, and identifying potential gaps in coverage.
  • Assign, monitor and review legal editing projects of Legal Research Editor and provide feedback to Legal Research Editor and Content Development Manager as necessary.
  • Assist in developing new, updated and repurposed content in assigned substantive area in collaboration with Practice Group Manager and in setting strategies and setting direction for use of this content.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with contributors, including recruiting and developing a fresh and satisfied group of expert contributors who make positive contributions to new and updated CEB content.
  • Perform legal research and analysis, which includes monitoring legal developments, and identifying, analyzing and evaluating new statutory, rule, case law, or other developments relevant to CEB content.
  • Summarize and incorporate new developments into electronic manuscripts and Reporters as requested.
  • Locate, identify, and update all legal authorities cited in CEB content; analyze cited authorities and discussion in manuscript; correct legal inaccuracies in the manuscript and errors in citation style; verify that all statements of law in manuscript have supporting authority.
  • Edit legal content, rewriting and reorganizing as necessary. Incorporate legal research to emphasize practice-orientation and accessibility. Ensure legal accuracy and adequacy, clarity, completeness and timeliness of coverage of issues, including substantive and procedural legal discussion, practice strategies and tactics.
  • Write original materials, including complex content, as needed.
  • Edit and draft original forms and update forms to reflect developments when appropriate. 
  • Determine relevance, thoroughness, and practicality of original content and forms.
  • Ensure that all content is written in a tone and style that follows CEB guidelines for the delivery format. When repurposing existing content, adapt tone and style as appropriate to meet CEB guidelines for all delivery formats.
  • Analyze legal trends and customer needs and use that analysis to develop and assist in presentation of CEB programs in assigned substantive area


  • J.D. and admitted to State Bar of California or other jurisdiction.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant substantive law area -- minimum of 2+ years of related law practice experience or 2+ years of legal editing experience in Trusts and Estates, Elder Law, Tax, or Probate Litigation.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills; demonstrated command of the English language.  
  • Excellent legal research skills including the use of electronic online research tools, such as Westlaw and Lexis, and citation verification programs.  
  • Excellent project management skills, including supervision of internal staff and resources and effective management of relations with contributors and co-workers.
  • Highly effective communication and collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.  
  • Ability to quickly digest new areas of the law in order to drive high level legal analysis.

 Product Marketing Manager

The Product Marketing Manager you will be the primary marketing owner of CEB's new digital products, including the creation and ownership of the messaging, launch plan, sales tools, marketing collateral, sales enablement and go-to-market activities for CEB's ambitious lineup of new digital products that serve the California legal industry. This role reports to the Director of Product & Platform and will develop and manage strategic and tactical marketing initiatives designed to aggressively position CEB as the key provider of legal research and practical guidance products to attorneys in California. Working closely with CEB's product management and go-to-market teams, the PMM will develop high level messaging for our target audiences, build compelling and differentiating details of the product feature set, and create impactful awareness and customer acquisition campaigns


  • Manage all facets of new product launches for both internal and external audiences.

  • Develop unique and compelling positioning and messaging for a range of legal research and practical law products.

  • Lead the creation of all marketing collateral from service and data sheets, to web pages, to online videos to web pages on

  • Be the expert on our buyers, who are they, how they buy and their key buying criteria, as well as our competitors and how they are positioned.

  • Develop a channel partner strategy, setting achievable goals for delivering new customers via these channels.

  • Understand and support our sales channels; train them on the problems we solve for our buyers and users; develop internal tools and external collateral and teach them how and when to use it.

  • Collaborate with the Digital Marketing Manager and other GTM staff to develop and implement lead-generation campaigns via organic search, search marketing, content marketing and social media channels.

  • Collaborate with the CEB Community Relations Manager to drive brand and product awareness via outreach and strategic partnerships within the greater California legal community.

  • Develop and evangelize strong product marketing capabilities across CEB, including mentoring product management co-workers to ensure a strong market-first focus. Lead the development of annual product-specific marketing budgets and then manage those budgets to successful completion





  • Ideal candidates should have experience in all facets of software product marketing, starting from pre-launch awareness and research, to nurturing a community of early adopters, through leading the scaling of successful sales and marketing strategies that make the product successful over time. This person should be a combination of visionary, data driven, and storyteller to cut through the noise in the buyer's head, and help drive the adoption of the CEB legal research platform in a highly competitive legal product landscape.

Programs Coordinator

The Programs Coordinator is responsible for the effective and efficient workflow for CEB Programs. This role is responsible for speaker contract management, marketing website accuracy, report and archive management, and live event coordination. The Programs Coordinator will also be responsible for vendor management as it pertains to the successful production of live program events.



  • Act as liaison between the Go To Market team and Content Development to ensure Programs are posted to the website for sale and all speaker bios are current.
  • Perform QA on Program sell pages. Verify accuracy of Programs data in marketing materials.
  • Ensure all speakers contact information is accurate, have signed contracts, are reimbursed for travel expenses, and have record of MCLE credits.
  • Serves as first point of contact for Customer Service to resolve Programs issues.
  • Create and maintain Programs curriculum and produce reports as necessary.
  • Coordinate the review and maintenance of program specialization and accreditation with the State Bar including preparation of required documents and applications. Maintain records of applications, approvals, and denials.
  • Prepare monthly reports to various states to verify MCLE credits for out-of-state attorneys.
  • Partner with Go To Market events management resource to ensure all business needs are met for live Programs events.
  • Attends live events as necessary to ensure business needs have been met, greet attendees, and handle issues as they arise.
