Essential Forms

Essential Forms is a subscription product. Subscriptions for Essential Forms are automatically renewed. Near the end of a subscription period, an invoice will be sent for the next year's subscription. Prompt payment of the renewal invoice will allow for uninterrupted service for the next year.

Essential Forms may be installed on one computer. For convenience Essential Forms may be installed on one additional computer at an alternate workplace such as a home office. To install Essential Forms and use the materials on a local area network, wide area network, or any other multiple-user computer hardware/software configuration within a single firm, agency, or company, a specific license for such network or multiple user use must be obtained from CEB. Network licenses are subscription products that are automatically renewed. Near the end of a subscription period, an invoice will be sent for the next year's subscription. Prompt payment of the renewal invoice will allow for uninterrupted service for the next year.

Essential Forms Single County Forms and Country Forms Packages are subscription products. Single County Forms and County Forms Package subscriptions are automatically renewed. Near the end of a subscription period, an invoice will be sent for the next year's subscription. Prompt payment of the renewal invoice will allow for uninterrupted service for the next year.

AccessLaw

AccessLaw's Judicial Council Forms and AccessLaw Online are subscription products. Each subscription allows online access by the user for one year and includes any updates or revisions during that year. AccessLaw subscription products are automatically renewed. Near the end of a subscription period, an invoice will be sent for the next year's subscription. Prompt payment of the renewal invoice will allow for uninterrupted access for the next year.

Reasonable use of AccessLaw Online is defined as 1000 page views and 250 printed pages per day.

Books — Automatic Update Service

Ownership of a CEB book makes you a CEB Automatic Update customer. Updates, revisions, and new editions of CEB books, Action Guides, and software will be sent to you automatically as they are released with an invoice. Full 30-day return privileges (postage paid) apply. You may cancel this service at any time.

The benefits of being a CEB Automatic Update Customer:

  • Preferred Customer pricing on new editions. You will be able to purchase new editions of your looseleaf publications at a reduced price.

  • Reduced shipping costs. Updates and new editions are shipped to Automatic Update Customers up to 10% off.

  • Free binder and tabs replacement.
  • Free replacement copy of paid updates.

There is nothing you need to do if you wish to remain an Automatic Update Customer — we will simply continue to send you updates and new editions of your publication as they become available. Automatic Update Service is also available for revisions of Action Guides. When you purchase an Action Guide, you are automatically an Automatic Update Customer unless you indicate your preference to be on Reminder Status. When you purchase a CEB practice book, you receive the current update at no extra cost. If an update to a hardcover book, an Action Guide revision, or a revised edition of an annual publication is published within 90 days after you purchase a CEB publication, CEB will send you a free copy of the new update or revised annual. If a new edition of a hardcover book is published within six months after you have purchased the previous edition, you can apply the amount you paid as a credit toward purchase of the new edition.

CLE Programs

Live and Webinar Programs

Order 48 hours in advance when enrolling in a Live or webinar (Livecast) program using the web. Not enough time? Call 1-800-232-3444, 7:30am to 5:00pm (PT), M-F to enroll before the seminar begins. You may cancel your purchase up to one business day prior to the seminar.

On Demand

You have access to On Demand seminars for four months from the date of purchase or the date the program becomes available, whichever is later. You may cancel your purchase if the On Demand seminar is not yet available for viewing.

Reasonable use of On Demand seminars by Passport customers is defined as up to 25 hours of seminars added to the customer's account in a 24-hour period. Additionally up to 6 seminars Reference Materials may be added to a customer's account in a 24-hour period.

Subsequent viewings of the On Demand program may be eligible for self-study credit, but will not change the one-time participatory credit reflected in your CLE certificate. CLE certificates are not issued or required by the State Bar for self-study hours.

Forms CDs

CEB Forms CDs contain all of a title's attorney-drafted forms, checklists, and questionnaires, and are available in Word. You are not required to purchase the Forms CD when you buy the book, but you must own a current version of the book in order to buy the Forms CD. When a Forms CD is updated, Automatic Update Customers will receive the updated CD at a reduced price.

Forms CDs include an Updated Files list that allows you to evaluate changes to the CD without opening the package. Opened Forms CDs cannot be returned for refund. Defective CDs may be returned for replacement.

OnLAW®

OnLAW is a Web-based subscription product offered on an annual basis. Purchase constitutes a 12-month contract. Each subscription allows access by the user for one year and includes any updates or revisions during that year. Law firms, corporate legal departments, and public agencies may purchase additional user access to an OnLAW Library or title by contacting CEB Customer Service. Additional user access is not eligible for monthly credit card payments. Additional users must claim a seat from the firm or agency to have access. OnLAW subscriptions are automatically renewed. Near the end of a subscription period, an invoice will be sent for the next year's subscription. Prompt payment of the renewal invoice will allow for uninterrupted access for the next year.

CEB has defined reasonable use of OnLAW by subscribers as 500 page views and 100 printed pages per day.

OnLAW version with print purchase

When you purchase a book that is a CEB OnLAW title, you may also purchase that title on OnLAW for an additional fee. The OnLAW Action Guide versions of Action Guides are also available for an additional fee when purchased with the print version. You need to be an Automatic Update customer to continue to receive the OnLAW version at the combination print/OnLAW price.

CEB Reporter Online

Your paid Reporter subscription entitles you to both the print Reporter and access to Reporters Online. Go to ceb.com and click on MyCEB to log in. Once logged in, your Reporter Online subscription is available through OnLAW. Reporter subscriptions are not refundable.

SmartJCForms

SmartJCForms is a powerful application that makes completing, saving, and managing California Judicial Council forms a breeze. SmartJCForms is a subscription product offered on an annual basis. A subscription to SmartJCForms includes one license and entitles you to one year of forms updates which are delivered automatically to your computer. Each computer is assigned a unique license and additional licenses can be purchased at any time. SmartJCForms subscriptions are automatically renewed. Near the end of a subscription period, a notice will be sent for the next year's subscription. Prompt payment of the renewal invoice will ensure uninterrupted access to program and updates for the next year.
