MARCY SHARAFIAN

MARCY SHARAFIAN

MARCY SHARAFIAN is a family law practitioner who assists clients using only consensual dispute resolution practices. After working as a family law litigator up until 2009, she decided that while the courts might be necessary in certain situations, the courts are more conducive to battle than supportive of families or individuals moving through the painful transition of separation and divorce. Ms. Sharafian earned her BA in Economics from UCLA and her JD from the King Hall School of Law at UC Davis. In addition to her formal education, Ms. Sharafian studied mediation for years with both the Bay Area Non-violent Communication Center in Oakland and the Center for Understanding in Conflict in Marin. She continues to study conflict resolution with Gary Friedman, Norman Fischer, and other conflict professionals at the Center for Understanding In Conflict. Ms. Sharafian is also a member of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of California, the Family Law Section of the Contra Costa County Bar Association, the Collaborative Practice East Bay, Collaborative Practice California (CP California), and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.
