Sites containing legal forms are proliferating. Judicial Council forms are available for free on the Internet from a number of sites. Transactional forms are also available on the Internet in free and fee-based sites.

Some forms are provided at no cost while others are provided at a fee based on the complexity of the document. Briefs and Other Court Records

Several law libraries throughout the state are depositories for the briefs and records of the California Supreme Court and the California Appellate Courts. These depositories include the California State Law Library, and the Los Angeles, Alameda, and San Diego County law libraries. For later briefs, check the web pages of the above-mentioned county law libraries. Unofficial sources for copies of legal briefs and court records are beginning to proliferate on the Internet. Some associations are beginning to put their brief banks online for members with limited public access, while other organizations are posting briefs for the general public.

Verdict and settlement information can be found on the Internet; however, a number of sources are subscription or member-based services of various legal newspapers. Lawnewsnetwork at http://www.lawnewsnetwork.com links to online regional legal newspapers that have verdict information. See, e.g., The New York Law Journal at http://www.law.com/jsp/nylj/index.jsp, which contains a New York Personal Injury Awards Database. This information is available without charge.
